ANyone ever had this problem with Paypal and delivery confirmation?

I printed a shipping label on Paypal on June 9th with delivery confirmation. Now when you try to track it online it says:Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received
The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on June 9, 2008 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.
All the other ones I printed within the last week say the package has left my area Post Office for delivery. Did the Post Office not scan this package? Is it lost?

In my district the clerks have to scan all priority/DC packages. In most of the offices I work at they also scan 1st class/DC as arrived. In 2 offices they only scan priority/DC arrived.
All carriers are required to scan everything as delivered when they physically deliver it. Most of us do.
It's likely that your parcel won't get scanned until delivered, and also possible that it doesn't get scanned at all if the carrier misses it. There's lots of buyers who use that as an excuse to steal.
<< <i>Remember...the guy delivering your package doesn't care about you, your purchase, and most likely his job... >>
It's a nice fun easy job that pays decent. Most of us care. Some don't.
You can find good and bad people working anywhere, from doctors and lawyers to garbage collectors and street sweepers. They're all harder workers than the ebay scammers and people who collect welfare and sit home all day playing games.
<< <i>That is the big problem with Paypal postage. Its better to go to the PO and get the DC you may pay alittle more, but the scanning is alot more reliable and puts the customer at ease better. >>
Paypal postage is actually slightly higher...you pay for the convenience.
Since we have a postal guy in this thread, can you tell me, if you pay for insurance online, and it never gets scanned, are you still protected by the insurance, if there's no way to prove you even mailed it?

Because I ONLY use the DC/SC tickets sold at the PO, ALL of my
items are scanned when accepted.
The extra money is a SMALL price to pay for the comfort customers
get when they can follow the progress of their packages online.
I just purchased PayPal shipping for the first time. Can I put the envelope into one of the blue collection boxes or do I have to hand deliver it to a PO or mail carrier?

Yes you can put it in a collection box, or give it to a carrier. The collection box is faster, you have to wait for the carrier to get back from his route.

The last time I asked at work I was told that yes it would be paid, and that they were working on closing that loophole. That was a couple months ago, so I don't know if they have fixed that yet or not.

As long as it is not over 13 ounces you can

As long as the postage payment is traceable (paypal is) then the 13 ounces doesn't apply. It's when you use stamps that there's a problem. Over 13 oz is the magic number if you use stamps.
