PayPal Question Scam ???????

Good Morning,
Although a little early to Panic, I am getting concerned. Last Sat. bought a Unopened Box of 1961 Nu-Cards Dinosaur Cards with a complete NM-MT set, "Buy It Now" $1400.00. Within moments of buying the auction I e-mail the Seller and tell him I am going to move some cash around on Mon. and I will pay him with PayPal by Mon. Afternoon. So Mon. I get cash deposited in my Bank account that is attached to PayPal accounrt and get on E-Bay and pay the guy including $26 for shipping and Ins. with Paypal. I get into my PayPal later that evening and it shows as Transaction Cleared/Complete. So I move on.
Yesterday I get an E-Mail from the guy that where is the payment, he has not recieved notice from PayPal of any payment. I re-checked and the auction shows as E-Bay paid, PayPal shows all complete, I have notices from PayPal to that affect. I have sent him three e-mails since yesterday, have not recieved an answer yet. The guy has 456 Feedbacks 100% Positive, I don't think this is a Scammer, But ????? Is this possible to get a payment and not Know??? Am I am correct in assuming I am at no risk for my money here? Although I don't want my money, want the Box and Cards!!!

Ive seen numerous posts on another board that indicates PayPal is having issues getting out notifications to people on payments received and sent.
Thanks for the answers, you are all right. Seller just e-mailed me that PayPal had never notified him, that he hadn't looked because PayPal always notified him, guess not anymore, that the money was there and the item will be Shipped today.
