Seller Issues---What should I do?

I don't typically complain about eBay transactions on the board. I know we all have issues and things get delayed, or we can't make it to the PO the next day to ship something out, or we get called out of town unexpectedly, etc., so...I am pretty patient, when it comes to stuff like that.

But, here is my situation. I purchased a card a couple of weeks back. It was a $6.00 card and the seller charged me $5.00 to ship Priority, per the auction. No problem, I paid less for the card than it was worth, so no biggie. I contacted the seller a week and a day after I bought the card. He did respond saying that he had computer problems and that the card had gone out a couple of days prior. The card showed up 2 days later. Shipped the day he responded to my email (not 2 days prior as he stated) and with a $.42 stamped envelope.

How should I handle? I have already emailed the seller politely asking him what gives:

I received the package today, but noticed that you did not ship Priority as stated in your auction. You shipped using a $.42 stamp, but charged me $5.00.

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Thanks, Mike

Needless to say, no response from the seller. What would you guys do??

Thanks in advance.

I would send him one more e-mail. Wait 3 days for response, then neg him.

    "Waht would you guys do?"

    Dear Seller:

I received the package today; shipping was grossly delayed.

I paid $5.00 for Priority Mail, but you shipped using a $.42 stamp.

I have sent you a PayPal request for payment of the $4.00
overcharge. Please fund this request now.

    Thank you very much.

DO NOT mention FB in any communications. If the seller refunds, leave him a POS.
If he gives you any grief, NEG him and ding his stars to the max.

It is sellers like this that have caused the crisis now being faced by good sellers.
The herd needs to be thinned.

Once you NEG the guy, your refund is history. Hold out until you are CERTAIN he
will not do the right thing.

It might not help but I would also block him from bidding on your auctions. Since you buy and sell with the same account you'll likely get your first negative after you neg him (if you end up doing that)

    Great point!

ALWAYS put troublesome eBayers on your "Blocked Bidders" list. It seems, with the new feedback policy, the new vogue to win auctions of someone you are unhappy with and neg the living tar out of their account.

    Yup.

In some categories, I have even put my competitors and their known-alts on BBL.

    .................

Related: The other problem we are having is folks bidding on five or six of the
same item with five or six different sellers. The bidder then ONLY pays for the
cheapest win. If a seller files an UID, it is a guaranteed NEG. EBAY is getting
richer by not having to refund FVFs.
