your welcome everyone, once I saw it I knew everyone here who collects vintage post-war baseball would get a tear watching that. I loved the score too! Found that completely on accident too
That was 17 years before I was even born but I absolutely loved it. Reminded me why I have had 4 pets in my life named after a player I never got to see play.
That's the best vintage baseball video I've ever seen. It captures everything--the city--outside the stadium--real people--and some awesome game footage.
As is, this could go straight into an exhibit in the Hall of Fame, and it would be one of the most popular, I'm sure.
that made my whole weekend and just for a second i forgot how much our Tigers have been stinking it up. I've been taping every game while at work then coming home to watch them and i stopped last week when they let me down once too often. but i think i'm gonna go program that VCR now! heck, i might even go down to the park and catch me a day game tomorrow!!! thanks for bringing the kid back in me!!!
Thanks for sharing the link, Loth! I don't have the best hardware at home so I couldn't read all the captions, which I'm sure added a lot to the video. It reminded me of simpler, happy days watching the NBC Game of the Week on Saturday afternoons in the '60s when I was a kid...
