Is there any way to remove ink pen from a card?

I picked up a few basketball cards that are off grade, but they also have some ink pen marks on the back. Is there any way to remove the ink without messing up the card ? I am not trying to doctor the cards to grade or anything (they are VG cards anyways), I would just enjoy them more without the "M" on the back.

Drop of Acetone (nail-polish-remover).
The VERY LIGHTEST of touches. Do NOT rub it. Just dab it.
This won't make it perfect, but it will get most ballpoint blue/black ink out.
Anyway, rather than rub back and forth with this easer, one rolls the putty to-and-fro with a light press. This in combo with the acetone would probably help a lot.

Allen,
You might try soaking them, and when the card is saturated, gently touch the ink portion and see if it will come off, might just come off by itself depending on the composition of the ink.
Mike
Removes the ink.
Radiation isn't bad.
Cards glow after use.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
Present!
<< <i>Thanks guys, I will try some of these, if the earth is completly destroyed you will know it worked. >>
Haha awesome post.
Ok, now back to the topic at hand. Let me throw this out there and see what folks think. I have a Exhibit card that has ink on the back that I wish wasn't there. What if I were to leave it in the sun for it to fade? Would it fade the cardboard? And would you consider this an alteration?

It would be OK to try that, but I suspect the ink would not totally vanish.
Acetone and water are the recognized remedies.
This also applies to 1990's certified autographs.
<< <i>Murphy's Law- If the ink is a kid's initials he put on there 74 years ago, it will stay as strong and bold as the day it was done. However, if the ink is a Babe Ruth signature it will fade steadily regardless of how hard you try to preserve it. >>
