Changes to the Ebay feedback system?

My feedback was 148 and about 96% (got screwed by Paypal, which ruined my feedback) when I last checked a few days ago. Now it's sitting at 155 with 100%. What gives? Looks like they're only calculating feedback for the last 12 months. Guess this is nice, since I can start selling again

The total feedback number is lifetime history. The feedback percentage is only based on the last 12 months. Your problem must have been over a year ago, so you are good to go!
  • You may want to check the other things before you start selling too much again. If you are only planning on selling 15 to 20 items per month, it might not be worth it, since one neg, neutral or 1 or 2 of a DSR could get you suspended..

I'll probably sell no more than 5-10 cards a month. Prospect stuff valued between $50-$200, and maybe some of my prewar stuff. I only have two positives in the past year (two Superfractors) and another one on the way since I just purchased a PSA 10 05 BC Ryan Braun blue refractor auto. I'm thinking about making my feedback private, I know it's always a red flag but my only negs come from Paypal problems (which I sure as hell won't be accepting). I'll never get a neg as a buyer....I buy very infrequently and when I do, it's $500+ cards. I'm only going to sell to clear up some space and get some cash together for some 19th century HOFers

One is not allowed to sell on EBAY with private-feedback.

  • Really? I'm talking about making feedback comments private, not my feedback score. Back when I was selling I knew that could be done. Maybe they've made some changes
  • mine also went up,seems like if someoneone purchased 2 or more lots all feedback counts( 2 lots same person equals 2 positives).they went back in time to recalculate.

Purchases/FB needs to be ONE-week apart, in order to be counted as distinct.

  • You cannot make your feedback private at all and sell on Ebay.

This sucks! I hate this dashboard thing. My seller rep went from raised to standard because of one person. I know that it was them because they were the only one's to comment after I had seen it at a different level this morning. They said my shipping time was too long. I shipped the item 2 weeks ago and gave them a DC #. It's not my fault they just now got it. This is really screwed up.
My suggestion, sell what you can now and leave ebay.

There is no where else to go.

As bad as traffic is on EBAY currently, it is 1000s of times worse on the ghost-town sites.

Agreed, right now ebay is the only game in town. Unless you want to do this
full time then you would need a web site.

For me Ebay is still a bargain.

    Steve
    Good for you.
  • As much as people cry and whine about Ebay it is the only real game in town. Buyers are flocking to the site for several reasons. Gas Prices are one of my selling points. I go out and find the stuff and save them the gas of hunting for it themselves. I bought 10 new action figures yesterday at Wal-Mart listed them all with a BIN of double what I paid 8 were sold in under 2 hours via BIN.

Where else are you going to reach the customer traffic you do on Ebay for the price you actuall pay.
