Will this '60 Mantle get a .5 bump?

I'm back on the boards after almost a year layoff. Looks like PSA slightly altered their grading standards while I was away. Wondering if now I'm going to need to re-sub the several of my high end 7 and 8's from my partial '60 Topps set.

I have this beautiful Mantle as the centerpiece of my collection. Honestly, it looks like 9 quality almost. Think it's worth a review (or even crack/submit) to try and get a .5 or full bump?

Here it is:

Thanks for the input!

EDITED TO ADD:
That is not snow on the card, but the scanner. Color is crisp and bright, no snow or fading anywhere.

Very nice card image I would send it in for a review for the bump it should receive.

    Nice card!
  • Thanks guys!

One follow up question. Out of curiosity, what is the VCP price between an 8, 8.5, and 9?

Where does it lack? You'd think it's a surefire 8.5, no?

    SWEET card!
  • I'm also going to have to say no to a bump because of the top/bottom centering. Sorry.

But a very nice card. You should be proud to call it your own!
  • Hmmm .. .check out the top/bottom centering on this PSA 9 I have ... Is it really much better than the centering on The Mick?

It is worth the shot my man, who the hell knows for sure. One thing is centering isn't as important as we were first told, corners and print seems to be just as or more.

  • I'd send it in for a review. 50-50 chance of getting a bump. Very nice card...wish it sat in my collection!
  • im sure they grade key cards extra hard.

I hope you get the bump. then you can sell it for an outrageous price and be an equally nice 7.5 image for peanuts/

You are not going to get that on a Mantle my friend. chaz
  • chipping on top edge, dots in right border, and is that a scratch on the case or what near his bum...
  • That's a great looking Mantle. I think it has a shot, compared to some other stuff I seen that got a .5 bump.

Welcome back, Tom. It's a great looking 8, but with the top/bottom centering and the fact that it's registration is slightly off left/right (see the tiny extra bit of yellow in the right margin), I don't think it will get the bump.

    Thanks for sharing!
  • It's a beauty! I'd say you have a chance at a bump, but I would guess it comes back the same.

May not get a bump, but it's an awesome card and worth a shot.
