questions on Blaster boxes?

Are they worth it or am I throwing my money away? Has anyone every pulled a autograph or jersey card ???

Seems to be that I wasted almost $300 on blasters and gotten nothing in return...sucks!!!

You stand a much better chance on getting something out of a blaster box than loose packs. I've had decent luck with blasters. I pulled a nice autographed orange refractor #ed to 25 out of the last blaster of 2007 Bowman baseball prospects that I picked up.

Yeah, I've pulled two autos. One for baseball and one for football. Both were common players. Worth about a buck each on eBay.

Definitely not worth the money if you're investing in blaster boxes, but they're OK if you're just ripping for fun and come across one.

I don't think any box of baseball, be it blasters, hobby, or retail, are worth "investing" in. I do think you stand a decent shot at good pulls from blasters, no worse odds wise than anything else.

My best advice is to never ever buy loose packs. By the time you get there, someone has already gone through them. Whether it's an employee or shopper, they have been sifted through 9 times out of 10.

Your chances of actually pulling something are better from a hobby box, because they typically say that you'll pull about 3 $ cards. Usually 2 game used and 1 auto or printing plate or something.

Now, I've had the best luck with blasters. Last year I bought most of my A & G from blasters. I always pulled at least a game used. Last year I pulled a Greg Louganis Red Ink auto that I sold for almost $300, a Mickey Mantle relic that I kept, and also a Laila Ali relic that I sold.

If you're ripping for investment then you're going about it the wrong way. Most of these days you can find the cards you're looking for on Ebay. If you're not trying to put a set together then why pay $19.99 for a bunch of cards you're not going to need just to take the chance at finding nothing. You can easily go on Ebay and find the cards you want.

If you're ripping just for the thrill and not for investment, then blasters are a great substitute for hobby boxes.

Why do they call them blaster boxes?

I pulled a Misty May Treanor and Vernon Wells auto from the blasters I opened of A&G last year, as well as a GU or two.

I opened 8 blasters? Maybe less, I don't really remember.

They should call them potato chip boxes. When you open them it is mostly air.

    Yeah, no kidding.
  • Blasters are better than loose packs. As loose packs can be searched. Hobby Boxes are best, better odds. (HTA even better) and Blasters dont have printing plates.

Unsure if this info is still correct as I dont buy many packs/read odds anymore.
