Chances for these cards to get the half-point bump? Gretzky RC, Aaron RC - GRADES BACK!

Hello,

I'm sending in an order to PSA tomorrow, and am going through some of my cards to see what has the chance for the half-point bump. I've got 4 candidates that I think are strong cards for the grade and can get bumped. Thoughts??? FWIW I was the original submitter on all of these several years ago.

Matty has a slight stain on the right border. The back is perfect. Gretzky has a couple of slight print dots, but corners are super sharp.

I've always thought this Aaron should have been a 5. And the Thorpe does not have a line running between the "J" and the "I" in his first name; that's on the case. Corners are probably sharp enough for a bump, but my thought is the centering could keep it at an 8.

Mathewson looks like a classic 4, probably no shot.

Gretzky has a shot.

Aaron is a beautiful card, but evey corner exhibits wear albeit minor. It is an excellent example of a 4, so the .5 bump is very possible.

Thorpe will probably stay as it is.

I think the centering on the Gretzky will keep it an 8.

All the rest are as they should be also.

I think the Mathewson has a shot too because it looks just as good as a PSA 5 t206 (not Mathewson) I have but yours has near perfect centering.

Would have to say no on the rest especially the Gretzky because of the L/R centering

Mathewson is a 3/4 so I wouldnt try it. The corners are far too round and the edge nick doesnt help.

Gretzky is the only one I think has a chance. The fees would be steep. I honestly wouldn't send them in for review.

I think the Aaron could get a half point bump, just because it's a nice looking 4. Maybe it deserves to be in 5 holder, but because of the poor centering no grader is going to crack it out of a 4 to bump up to a 5. The corners look a little round as well.

And I don't know why you guys think the Gretzky is worth a bump. The l/r centering is pretty bad, and we can't see the surface, corners or edges in that scan. To my eye, it just looks like a poorly centered 8.

Regardless...very nice cards!

Well, I ended up sending in the Gretzky and the Aaron cards for review.

Gretzky remained at an 8.

Aaron got bumped from a 4 to a 4.5.

I also sent in three other lesser cards, and ended up with 3 of the 5 cards getting bumped .5 grades, so I can't complain!
