Ummm, isn't this a conflict of interest? I know Beckett does auctions but they're all on consignment. If CU owns the cards and is selling them, that's a major red flag for me.

They did the same thing a few years ago, but stopped due to conflict of interest issues. Since then, with coins, David Hall sells his coins graded by CU and it has been accepted. As with many PSA ideas, they are Dave Hall roll outs from the coin side. The business can not be stopped. It can withstand a weak SMR, half-grades, Wagner talk, inconsistency talk, employees leaving to start a new company etc. Conflicts of interest will be a tiny blip that goes away with time, like so many other events.
There seems to be no conflict, IF the graders do not know who the submitters are.
"Appearance of a conflict," is often an abused concept. I have no problem with CLCT providing a venue to move their stuff - or the stuff of their employees.
It seems that many of the listings have ZERO to do with CLCT.
I might have a problem with listing raw-stuff. Especially, if the folks grade like some of the currency sellers on the site have done.
Maybe raw-stuff should be sent to the BST, or EBAY. CLCT, being grading-based, might ought to keep the raw stuff outside of any sanction their name implies.

I saw it the other day for the first time.......surprised by the low #'s of item.....I guess unless it's "new".....

One thing I noticed:
ALOT of the raw-currency appears to be over-graded.
maybe

That was my first thought, but I think it is largely incorrect.

Money is borrowed from PSA/CLCT by owners of graded-cards; the cards
make for a security-interest.
Kinda like a Pawn Shop.

I don't think so, the site may be owned by CU, but the items for sale are not, or they do not appear to be.
Did you bother cliking on any links?
I did and many different people seem to own these items.
The first link I clicked on was not a CU owned link.
