Line 1 was a 1976 Venezuelan League Sticker. They've graded these before, so I'm not sure what the problem is on this one. I hoped one of the 1977 Cramer's would come back a 9, but can't complain. For the most part it was as good as or better than I expected!

I've been wondering how they grade these. I've got both the Topps and OPC Ted Simmons to send in.

I'll put up a scan once I get it back. This one was just the Gantner, I believe. I have one at home that also has the cartoon next to it with a perforation between them. I picked them both up on ebay years ago. They were hand torn at the perforation, if that helps.
<< <i>Gumby, how did you get into the Gantner cards? Did you ever meet him? Is your collection up there in comparison with Onefastlon ( The Sabo collector ) >>
Man crush!

I spent a lot of time at Milwaukee County Stadium when I was younger and through those years there were 3 constants: Robin Yount, Paul Molitor and Jim Gantner. I am a big fan of all three and have collections for all three. Yount and Molitor put up "HOF numbers" while Gantner put up what I would call "HOF heart". Gantner played the game as hard as anyone I've ever seen, but doesn't get the national spotlight of Yount & Molitor because he didn't hit .300 and didn't hit homeruns. He's was a solid defender and was definitely a fan favorite. He was born and raised here in Wisconsin, went to college here and played all 17 years of his career here. Yount left after he retired. Molitor left long before he retired.
I've never met Gantner, although I've had a few opportunities to do so. I will hopefully meet him sometime this summer as he spends quite a bit of time over at Miller Park. I always seem to have something come up when he does a signing around town ... either that or I find out a day AFTER he's been somewhere.
As for comparing my collection to Onefastalon, I'm not even close yet. I have almost all of Gantner's cards in raw form (actually anywhere from 2-100 of each), I have a game used bat and some nice pictures for the wall.
I guess it just all takes me back to a simpler time for me - and for the game.
Thanks for reading...
Craig

Either that or he will be creeped out and get a restraining order against him!
