Help please.
I sold a Mint 9 PSA graded pack a few weeks ago on eBay. I mail it to the buyer. He opens the package and this is what he finds:

That tear was not there when I sent it and had to have happened during shipment. What I cannot figure out is how the pack got damaged yet there isn't so much as a scratch on the holder.
As anyone seen anything like this before and what will PSA do, if anything, about this?

seriously, that sucks. what are those worth?
Loose gum is desired, especially in older OPC packs. If the gum is stuck it means that the pack has been stored in warm / humid conditions and the gum has probably melted and ruined the cards.

Not sure about the gum hypothesis either.

something doesn't seem right, also can't see the top of that folder as it has been cut off in the pic
Attempted crack and switch?
"Something not right."
of the pack just whacked the inside of the pack and caused
the damage.
A fast-refund is probably the only option, if this was a PayPal
sale.
Just for our future reference: How was the item packaged,
and what class of mailing was used?
Sorry that happened to you.
<< <i>Is there any frosting on the slab? Wonder if he ripped it when he cracked it? >>
I don't see any frosting. The buyer is actually more upset with PSA then he is with me and has even left me positive feedback for the transaction. He emailed PSA about a possible problem with thier pack holders and asked if they'd be willing to do anything about what happened but they never responded.
<< <i>If the stick of gum is loose in the pack (ie not stuck to the top card) and the pack was tossed around during shipping the corner of the gum could have poked a hole through the wrapper. >>
I had this thought also. The rip however appears to go around the entire edge of the pack exposing all of the cards. Could the gum really have caused this?

I sent it USPS first class wrapped in bubble wrap sandwitched between two pieces of cardboard inside of a bubble mailer.
