Nice vintage- going to PSA- 68 Carroll Dale

I'm sending in my 12 free cards for grading. Among them a 68 Carroll Dale card. Some Mantle's, Mays and Aarons. Some nice cards that I've had for awhile. Should be some very high grades. The 71 Aaron is high end.

That 70 Mays is AWESOME - gotta be a 9, right?

    Good luck,

That Reese is very sweet. To bad it is a touch off center...

    Vito,
The 70 Mays is spectacular and should get a 9. A 10 on that card would not shock me as it is almost dead centered and razor sharp. The 62 Mantle has everything for a 8.5 except centering. I believe it's a 7.5 due to all other premium qualities. The 69 Mantle is Nm-Mt with 65-35 centering t/b. I believe it should get into an 8 holder. The 71 Aaron is as close to mint as could be. All of these cards are from a batch of about 100 I have to choose from to send in. I will send the others in soon. I bought the 68 Dale card for .50 when I was in California on military training. I didn't know anything about that particular card. It is extremely rare in an 8. The Pee Wee Reese is my brothers and the only card that worries me. It seems glossy in one area-the bottom right. I believe a chance of recoloring. I think it is 50/50. All of the others have been measured and the edges examined. I took all of these to a PSA dealer and they checked them and said they were awesome. I'm sending them out today. I hope the scans were decent. Thanks guys.

Is the white spot to the left of the 1971 Aaron's chin on the card or the purple background?

    Nam,
It has one very small touch on the left edge. Other than that it is mint.

I mailed my cards on Tuesday and they are already logged in the system- "WOW". I've been hearing about recent turnaround times being much better, so this is a positive step forward in the grading process. Kudos to PSA for the improvement in these areas. Also, I'm fairly excited about this sub as they were all nice cards.
    Thanks,

Nice cards..... good luck with the grades.

The Reese's borders look extra wide. I wonder if they were power erased? I have a '56 Kaline that on first glance looks high-end NM-MT like your Reese card, but has had one side erased to improve the centering. I purchased that card from the twins from Michigan back in the early 1990's. I just keep it now to remind me of getting hosed by the card doctors back in the day.

Sorry to go OT with my stuff.

Good luck with them. They look very crisp. Having spent a ton of time and money on 1970 Topps, I will go against the grain a bit on the Mays. From the scan, I would tend to lean toward PSA 8-8.5 rather than the PSA 9 everyone is suggesting as it appears that there are minor touches on the upper right and lower left. Also, there seems to be some inconsistencies with the angles of the card, but it could be the result of the scan and sleeve, but the pessimist in me wouldn't be shocked to see an N1. With the bottom centering, there should be more evidence of the white line that runs in the top border. There's only a hint of it towards the right side. Could be the result of the slight diamond cut or something less pleasing.

Good luck and I'm hoping that the grades are all what you're hoping for. Some great, great looking material and a great eye in selecting it! Let us know your grades when they're posted next week!
