Why is Upper Deck so Lazy with their Card Photos?

In the process of looking for a Pat Riley autographed card, I came across no less than 7 cards which used the same photo or portions thereof in releases from the last couple of years. You would think the folks at Upper Deck would have more than 1 photo to use on their manufactured collectibles.

I would imagine they would need to purchase the rights to these older photos, but you would have to think they would be able to nad more then a single action shot of most players.

It is kinda crappy, but Topps, Philly and Bowman did it in the 50s and 60's as well. Nothing new.

I just wanted to say I really like those cards!

Now about the recycling of images? I'm clueless.

Perhaps they just liked that image? Don't know.

But, still great cards! Interesting sig. He makes circles like Derek Jeter.

    Thanx for sharing.

The more important question is how did they get Riley to make the same exact pose for every one of those pictures.

That is the reason they gave when asked in a Beckett post. That they are limited to gettyimages and some other source that I can't remember. But those are just excuses because you would think those places would have more than one photo available. Like those Riley autos represent 4 different years!!!
