Great Flip - Vintage Football Not Hurt By Recession

Item ends 5/5 for $147.50

Hornung Rookie

Seller bought card on 4/18 for $97.02, didn't change the description or the same lame pictures and sells it less than a month later for a $50.00 profits.

Hornung Rookie

Last two VCP's were in the $90 dollar range with the highest sale in the last year of $128.00

Is it a seller's market?????

The Set Registry Award deadline is less than 6 weeks away. I sold the majority of my Robin Yount registry about a year ago for tidy profits and am working on replacing them right now. I've been paying approximately 10-25% of what I sold them for last year.
  • thats a great looking 4.

Ever think the first auction were the seller started at .99 cents kept some other bidders away vs. starting at 49.99?

Very interesting psychological question. Do you start a high value cards at $99.99 or do you start all auctions at .99. I've seen it go both ways, but have never tracked what starting point yields the best result.

I have purchased some graded cards that started at average VCP prices and been the only bidder. I wonder if they would have gotten more bids if they started lower and got more people involved? Its like a BIN or ebay store that has a reasonable price instead of a very over inflated on. Do you list a $100 VCP average card somewhere around $100, or are you better off starting the card at $9.99 and risking getting less or gamble that more bidders will get involved and get in a bidding war and drive the price up well above $100?
