Why no "slimline" PSA holders?

I don't know the mechanics of the slab, so this could be an ignorant question, but do the PSA slabs have to be as thick as they are? If the slabs were thinner, they'd be far easier to stack in greater numbers, store, and even display (such as in customized plastic sheets).

So why are the slabs as thick as they are?

    Cause they have give you something to justify $12 per card.j/k.I think they would be to flexible if the were thinner.

    Thin? I wish the slabs were thicker. I think PSA has the thinnest slabs amongst the "big four" grading companies and are the most fragile. Too fragile if you ask me.
