How long should I wait.

Hello everybody. All replys are appreciated. How long should I wait for a buyer to pay.The auction ended on April 2,2008.As of this morning I still have not heard anything.I have sent several invoices and emails to the buyer.I even told them that if they need more time to pay.I do not have a problem giving them time. But,I need to know because ,if they are not interested then I need to relist and get my selling fee that ebay charged my over 10.00 dollars for because of the final sales fee.I know 10.00 dollars is not a big deal. But,if the buyer changed their mind,at least tell me so I can get my money back from ebay.Thanks............Don.

  • You need to file an NPB (Non-Paying Bidder) with Ebay. They notify the buyer and sometimes that's all that's needed to get the payment. If not, then you can escalate it and when closed, you get your FVF back (I think when you resell it).

I would also suggest that in future auctions you stipulate on how long the buyer has to pay. I find that 7-10 days is a fair amount of time and that most of my buyers pay instantly. You have waited more than enough time, file the NPB alert. Also, what is the buyers feedback like?
    Looking for Carl Willey items.
  • As long as a customer lets me know their intentions to pay, I am willing to give them 7-10 business days, but if there is no communication from the buyer, I get to filing npb after 7 business days. Others may differ, but that is just how I do it, so I can move on.

No need to re sell it to get fees back, after 8 days from the date you filed first you can close it. Go to dispute console and start from there.

It takes 15 days from the moment the auction ends to do this, you can't file the NPB until 7 days has passed and if no communication you can close it out after 8 more days.

    Keep all communications professional.

  • Thanks everybody.I have looked at the buyers feedback of when the auction ended for his winning auctions and when the buyer paid.To be honest all of the buyers payments took about a month. But yet all of the sellers put down as feedback, things like "fast payment or quick payment"I thought that maybe it was me expecting payment to fast or that I was being impatient. Now I realize that it was not me.Thanks for the help.
