Another new guy here

I wanted to introduce myself. I joined PSA last year, but I did not notice the message board until a month ago. I started collecting again last year (mostly throught EBAY, not too many local shops or shows around me), after many years away from the hobby. I am collecting 1969 to 1979. Currently working on 1969 and 1970 BB. I have been learning alot from browsing through the threads over the last month. Hope to contribute. Thanks
Chris

Welcome Chris, it is always good to see a new old collector join the boards. Did you keep the stuff you collected as a kid or did you long ago purge it all thinking you would never be back?

I kept the cards from when I was a kid. Mostly late 60's to mid 70's. Most of those cards are in fair condition. I did purchase a 1976 T vending set for $7 (in 1976); which is in the original box- pretty nice. Some of those HOF cards graded out 7 and 8.

I have most of the stars, HOF, and league leaders in the 1970 T set. I started with raw; but found that is very variable in terms of what you get on EBAY. What is described as NM or better often is not. There is a steep learning curve. I then started getting graded 7's and 8's for the above mentioned ( I have about 50 %). I have a handful of graded and raw commons.

I have about 50% of the stars, HOF, etc, graded for the 1969 T. Don't have the expensive ones with this set; being patient.

Welcome to the boards. There is a lot of knowledge here about building sets, so don't be afraid to ask. Good luck with the sets!
