S/H costing me sales????

I keep getting that ebay message telling me my S/H is too high. I charge either $3 or $3.50 for S/H. Is this too high??
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!

are you charging this on single cards? just curious.
How much do they expect people to charge??? $0.99?
What in the world is going on with ebay man.

I might not pay $3 S+H to get a 99-cent card, but I might pay $3.79 if S+H was "free."
I always use "FREE" S/H on BINS. I just jack the price enough to cover it.
You have some $20+ stuff. You might experiment with "FREE" on some of them.
Escaping from the concept of S/H as a profit-center is not easy. Once you do
it, you will never go back.
I get more than my share of complaints, BUT never about S&H.

Maybe someone (enemy) is constantly reporting you
just to annoy you. I've seen higher s/h fees. Yours
doesn't seem that unreasonable.

TurboLister will do it.
Maybe just try a few.
Remember, the "free" tag does NOT display in store-search results.
Some folks use some of their title line : Free S&H or $0 S/H.
"Free" tag does appear in "fixed price" CORE listings.
Best match gives preference to "free s/h."
Another experiment that might work is to group some of the 99-cent
items into packages that retail for $10 or $20.
I no longer want ANY sales below $20. Fewer sales at higher prices
means ALOT less work and more profit.
The cards ended with an average of 450.00, so 8.95 was cheap, as it was priority mail with insurance and signature
confirmation.
Ebay needs to stop worrying about what sellers charge to ship items.
The average cost by the way for me to ship was over what I charged my buyers.
A few paid a lil more, some less. If I broke even I'm lucky.

<< <i>See if they respond when you e-mail them about their high fees. >>
Classic!
I find that what you charge for shipping is irrelevant as long as you explain yourself. I charge a standard $6 irrespective of the price of the item, but explain that this is because I ship using Priority Mail, which costs just under $5. Never had a complaint, and have a 4.8 feedback rating for shipping.
It's all about effective communication.....
Ebay 330226771514 22.00 for 4 cards
Ebay 330228087769 22.00 6 graded 1 regular
OK, I will try $2.50 on the new listings and see what happens.

<< <i>storm888, with your method of free shipping, are you able to give some kind of combined shipping/purchasing discount of any type? >>
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
No, and that is a disadvantage of my system. It does NOT encourage/incent
multiple item buys.
Recent EBAY surveys are showing the following RE: combined-shipping discounts:
Folks who offer them have the highest rates of multiple-item sales.
Folks who set $50 to $75 "free" shipping are averaging sales just above
the target-prices.
eg: "Free Shipping With $50 Purchase" results in multiple sales between $50 and $55.
eg: "Free Shipping With $75 Purchase" results in multiple sales between $75 and $85.
There were no survey questions about $100 minimums. The surveys were of store-keepers.
The same math likely applies to "fixed-price" CORE listings, but the captive aspect of stores
should skew for stronger multiple buys in stores.
"Free" also is search advantaged. But, mostly it is just EASIER and there are no discussions
with cheapskates about the subject. I am in the stuff selling biznez; if I have to rely on
scalping a dollar on the freight, I will find some other stuff to sell.
Freight IS a profit center for MOST EBAYers. I am not criticizing that fact. It is just not
the biz that I do. I like easy.
