Cost of PSA/DNA Slab?

I'm watching an autographed card on ebay right now that isn't certified. If I do buy it (auction ends in about 6 hours I think) then I will want to spend the money to get it psa/dna authenticated for look and protection purposes.

My question is, how does a non member go about submitting a card to PSA to slab and authenticate the signature and how much would it cost?

Comments

  • I think normal cost for PSA/DNA grade and slab is $20, without membership I think you can drop them off at a show they are at or have a friend who is a member submit it for you. You will also have postage to add to your cost depending on what you choose.

Thanks guys. I'm not to sure what I'm going to do. The card I am thinking of is a Red Man Autographed Warren Spahn that also has the inscription 363 wins (seller thinks it says 368). If the auction ended right now and I authenticated it myself, I would probably be into it for about $40 including shipping. His Perez Steele autos can be had in the $20-$35 range already slabbed. The main reason for questioning buying this card though, was the rarity of it.

Thanks for helping me make my mind up guys.

Here's the card if anyone is interested.

  • good luck Goot !

sounds like it will be a nice piece.
  • Cool card, I would slab it for sure and like it a lot more than a Perez.

Also once folks get to know you around here you can prolly find someone who will let you join in on a sub with them.

    Goot...
if you not a member you have 2 options....
    1) join and spend $20 for auth, grading (if you want) and slab

    or

    2) don't join and go here to find the price for spahn ($20) and pay an additional $10 for slabbing. However, you cant get the card graded, only the auto if you want it.

Thanks a bunch guys, now all I have to do is win the auction....image Pressure's on now!

Also, I think it is an authentic autograph but do any of you more experienced guys see a problem with the auto?

Sorry to bump this thread, but I was just curious if anyone found anything wrong with the auto since it's getting down to crunch time now. Also, if someone from here is a person that outbids me....I'll bust a cap image. Thanks for any help.

A link might have helped your request. I looked and I couldn't even find the card you were talking about.

It was on there earlier, he might have edited it out to keep other people from bidding. It was cheap at only a few bucks.

I dropped some cachets autos off at the Chicago show and was charged an additional $10 per auto for encapsulation.
Should I have been chaged the extra $10 if I am a member?
