Edited to say that the cardboard gold ones are slightly oversized and I like them a lot better than others. They are a little thinner and don't "bind" on their way into the CSI
i dont, i just use cardsavers, except on the smaller cards like early bowmans that are nt reg size, i figure if the graders are half as much as clutz as i am now a days, ill just use cardsaver and hope they dont have butterfingers like i do if u have ever bought anything old raw off me,this does not apply to your stuff
You could give these a shot if you haven't already. I go back and forth from these and snipping off the corners of regular ones. I turned up the contrast hoping it will help show the design of the sleeve.
I would add that I don't put vintage in penny sleeves, just in the card saver 1. The only things i put in penny sleeves are modern "shiny cardboard" because they tend to get scratched or fingerprints on them before, during or after grading. Plus they tend to stick to the CS on their way in and they sometimes have a bow to them from the pack. Vintage stuff is usually of a matte finish and slides in and out quite nicely. So unless it's an undersized card (early leaf/bowman or tobacco) I don't bother with penny sleeves.
Using a penny sleeve is always better, so the grader dosen't have to tocuh your card trying to take it out of the card saver. I know they have those new penny sleeves with the cut corner, and I think thats way better than having no penny sleeve at all, but I think the one corner is still exposed or something? I haven't really tried them yet, but what I do is get a regular penny sleeve and slice one or the corners open, so you don't damage the card going into the sleeve, and don't leave it exposed later.
Its like pussing (SORRY Matt, I meant putting ) on your shoes or sneakers with no socks!!!
Sure you can do that, but your feet will smell, and so will your cards get damaged
Comments
If you're worried about damaging the card,
you can always clip the top two corners off of the sleeve before you put the card in it.

The top back side of the card is exposed leaving the top corners unprotected.
