largent and payton rookie...grades are in

i picked up a 76 set and 77 set a few weeks ago at a local mall show. the guy threw in 2 extra largent's with the deal along with a few other nice extras. i sent these 4 off today. your ideas on the grades????

this is by far the best payton and largents i've owned. my current payton is a psa 3. this one may could gem on a good day, the corners are crisp, centering is sweet.

    I was going to say

    8 -- 8.5
    7 -- 8.5

Payton looks very nice, maybe a 9 candidate? Tough to tell from the scans. Nice looking Largents too. Most common defect on them is the blue print defect on his right nostril (your right, not his) image

I'm gonna go 8, 8, 8, 9. Great cards. Centering on the Largent is always a beyotch.

I agree with Lee. The largents are plagued by that little green PD dot to the right of his nose, and all 3 of yours have them. It appears in about 75% of his rookie cards.

Nice pickups though David, I think someday Largent rookie cards will become the new standard of money in the US. For example, a loaf of bread will cost you a Largent psa 1. Just my opionion though image

good and bad. i was really hoping for a 9 on one of the largents. maybe the 5 has a defect i didn't pay close attention to...however, i'm very excited about the payton and would have loved a 10 of course.

I take it the centering held the Payton back.

Hey, I was right on, but apparently I missed a surface wrinkle on the one Largent or something. I need to look at my monitor with a loupe next time.

Nice Payton David, I knew it was a 9.
