I picked these up last weekend. 1923 origin of games cigarette cards for 50 bucks.
any idea what these are worth?
I think I made a good deal.

    And for fun I'll take a stab and say they're worth about $10-30 each, depending on the sport. Maybe golf (and is that baseball or cricket?) could bring more. That is a wild guess which I like to do in my spare time. image

    Murray's Cigarette Card Values lists the 1923 Sarkony Origin of Games set at 67.50 British Pounds. That would be for what we would call NM.

    The above cards usually can be had for 3 to 5 dollars in the condition shown.


    Sometimes you can get nicer ones for that too.


    For some reason the English T cards have yet to take off like here.

    If that stuff appeals to anybody (it is my favorite non-investment stuff),
    take a look at Liebig cards. Thousands of subjects, and the cards can be
    had in nice condition. CHEAP, but many are 100+/- years old.

    The EBAY search is "liebig"

    Many of those English sets are beautiful sets but for the most part they have not taken off as far as value goes. I have been contemplating snagging a few myself.
