Got a sweet Michael Jordan signed rookie tonight

I struck a deal tonight for this Michael Jordan PSA/DNA signed 1986 Fleer rookie. Yes, I am the same person that asked for opinions last night as to if it would be a better investment than a 51 Bowman Mantle PSA 2, BUT, at the end of the day, I decided to walk to the beat of a different drum and was able to swing a deal that made it cheaper than a nice Mantle 2 anyway, and it will fit in my collection better as I am pursuing signed major rookies. Might not be as good an investment, but sometimes we have to go with our hearts image instead of our head, and its not always about investment, but about intrinsic satisfaction. (man that sounds sappy and exactly like someone trying to justify a purchase that was completely frivolous. image

Sweet MJ! Thats a nice 6 too.
  • Very nice. I would love having a signed copy of that card but I rarely see them. The most recent copy that I saw was a PSA graded copy that was signed by MJ on the case. It was authenticated my UDA, but I'd much rather have on card than on case. Either way, congratulations on an outstanding card.

<< <i>a purchase that was completely frivolous >>

    That's a great card Mike - auto'ed - the best!

IMO - there are no frivolous purchases when you're interested in something and it brings happiness.

Now my wife thinks all this stuff is insane - in that case - I would be more than happy to accept "frivolous."

Congratulations on a nice pick up - and as it goes for investment? If it goes up? Great - if not? It's still a great collectible IMO.

Resub and just have it slabbed authentic. Can I ask what deal you struck? There is a signed Star Jordan on there I have drooled over for days, only thing is it is signed in red sharpie. Still sweet though.
  • Can't go wrong with a signed Jordan rookie, Congrats! image

  • Very nice card!!! Just the fact that it's a auto'd Jordan rookie seems like it has more of a "historical nostalgic" value than the Mantle you were contiplating. If you were thinking about an unsigned Jordan, that might be a different story, but after seeing the card you decided to purchase (and knowing that you got what you really wanted), I think you made the right choice.
