Got fired today,

I guess I will be the opposite of Guru and spend MORE time here until I find a new job.

I pissed off the wrong person at work and it cost me.

My company is always hiring IT folk. Try www.redgold.com, you would have to move though.

  • Good luck man.

Who did you tick off? What happened?

  • I work at Metavante (milwaukee and menomonee falls) - as a programmer-anlayst (I am at the milwaukee branch off 106th and good hope) . I know for a fact that the last group I was with at this company (1 year ago) and the new group I am in - BOTH - have positions open for project managers and/or project leads (one of the project leads just announced they were transferring to another group within the company) - which would be an IT project manager / project lead position. [of course I hope this is not the place you were just at.] www.metavante.com Good luck.
  • I am a IT vendor (corporate sales rep) for a major reseller....incase anyone is looking for a new vendor. PM me for contact info.

I ticked off the director by talking about my boss' lack of professionalism a few too many times. I had a feeling this was coming. Those who speak the truth get nailed often. I am just a number anyway.
  • Bummer Troy!

You can pull your carboard box up next to ours. We've lost some (but not all) work lately.

    Wow Troy

    I'm sorry to hear that.

I wish you luck in finding another job.

After the Army - I went to work for myself - and sometimes I wish the "boss" would fire "me!"

You're gonna find a better job!

That sucks man , But I believe that everything happens for a reason .

Maybe something better is down the road for you and this might not be such a bad thing .

I barely know anything about the computer I am sitting in front of , so I would be of no use to you as far as being a help in that respect ,

I have been out of work for a few weeks now , Punishing my boss for charging me for parking tickets I got in Manhattan, But I have my own customers that I take care of so I'm not that hurting right now .

I kept telling him, you have to charge the customer for the tickets , not me , If I have to do the job, I can not sit with the truck , I can not be in two places at the same time , i also told him, if you don't like tickets , pay someone to sit in the truck .

Screw em , now they will suffer , because I am the best at what I do .

LOL, I get a lot of tickets , almost 800.00 for the week in question .

  • Maybe you can get a job as a PSA grader

I would agree about the rich girlfriend idea.

If that does not work then look for a job.

    Good luck to you!

    Troy,

Sorry to hear the bad news. Stay optimistic, though...sometimes these things happen for a reason and you'll find something even better out there.

Hang in there...it's probably right around the corner!

  • Sorry to hear that!

  • If she were cute and blond, I don't think my wife would mind the girlfriend. image

I'm about to 'get re-assigned' at work myself. It's kind of a lateral move with the chance to make a little more money, but also the risk of losing some as well. I guess that's the change I take with an incentive pay employer. I am, however considering finding a new job so I can get a teaching certificate to go with my degree and teach high school math or science.

    That sucks Try consulting?
  • I lost my job at the beginning of this month due to a severe difference of opinion and personality conflicts between my x-boss and I, he didn't like the way I did my job because he wanted me to do it "his" way, it was a sales position which I was doing just fine thank you. So the rectum let me go along with someone else. So I have been spinning my wheels the last couple of weeks and trying to get my motivation back and find something new, its a kick in the nuts when this crap happens. Very, very frustrating time, thanks for letting me vent.
