eBay: Question About 2nd Chance Offer

I had an auction that ended almost 2 days ago. I sent the potential buyer an invoice right after the auction ended but have not heard anything yet. I will give him the benefit of doubt and probably give him another day. If I take advantage of eBay's 2nd Chance Offer and they accept the offer can the 1st buyer who won the original auction leave me a Negative? Also, can I withdraw the 2nd Chance Offer if the 1st Buyer pays me before then 2nd Buyer commits? Does the 1st Buyer even know that I started the 2nd Chance Offer process?

    It's only been two days, I would wait.

    I would give the seller at least a week to pay. They may even be sending a check or mo that has not arrived yet (if you accept payment that way)

    almost 2 Days?

    Did you state in your auction you wanted an instant payment? If not, then I think the EBay (not sure as EBay is blocked at work, so I cannot check) rules are a minimum of 7 days period before filing a NPB.

    Not sure what your big hurry is in getting paid, but there may be some reason for someone not paying for a couple of days.

    Thanks, lawnmowerman. Yes, patience is a virtue. After all I waited 17 years for another Super Bowl ring image. Just in general do you know then answers to the questions I posted about 2nd Chance Offers so I will be prepared just in case?

    Sorry, I sure don't. Perhaps you can navagate the Ebay help pages, which personally I hate to do.

    I'm sure someone here will give you the answer once they read your thread...good luck.

    L-man, I navigated the eBay "Help" pages but they were not much help in answering the questions I posted. Oh, well I was going to wait a few more days anyway. The winning Buyer has 300+ Feedback (100%) so I am quite sure he will pay.

    100% feedback and the auction ended yesterday and you are worried about payment?
    Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards.

    2 days ago. I am not worried but just really curious about the 2nd Chance Offer feature since it popped up on "My eBay" screen.

    I believe the procedure would be thus:

    1) You have to file a NPB strike against the first bidder for non-payment. I think you have to wait at least 7 days.

    2) eBay will notify you that your FVF fees are being refunded. The first bidder then would not be able to leave you neg feedback.

    3) You can then offer 2nd Chance to the 2nd bidder, if he accepts then you will be charged FVF on that bidders final bid.

    In addition the way I read it in the Help Section on eBay if one had multiple items they could use the "2nd Chance Offer" for under bidders also.

    Not worth the hassle bro. Today is payday and the dude will get you your money. You would have to open a dispute and what not which gives the buyer a certain abount of time to respond. So needless to say if the orginal winner pays you are sol and he can neg you to high heaven. Just be patient.

    You can do a second chance offer right away. However that would only be recommended if you have more than one of the same items otherwise you need to follow the steps all the way through as the original can leave feedback on it should you sell it out form under him. Then you would get into this problem what happens if you offer the second chance and the buyer pays at the same time the under bidder accepts. In that scenario you put yourself into having to pay double fees AND giving both parties the ability to leave you feedback.

    I think I answered my own question. I had an extra item so I was able to offer it via the "2nd Chance Offer" to the under bidder while still selling the 1st. By the way, the 1st Buyer paid me after 4 days.
