Question for Ebay Buyers

When you are looking for something whether it be a card or something else, do you also check the Stores for BIN items? I bring up the question seeing I was tracking an auction for Non Sport Card and it went up to $31. I figured it wouldn't go up much higher seeing the same seller had one for $40 BIN in their store. When I check the closed auction it sold for $61 and the other item still sits in their store for $40. Same item, same condition, just some people that didn't take the time to find it.

  • I browse under the assumption that auctions are for items that need to get sold, regardless of price. Stores are for items that the seller doesn't mind holding on to unless they're guaranteed to make a tidy profit. Because of that store items are normally way over priced and a waste of time to peruse.
  • Good day,
When I have my Buyer's hat on, I agree with ajmoeller81, for the most part I don't even bother with the stores, tried it a few years back and the prices for the most part were rediculous and it takes more time than I have to just look for auctions, so no time for Stores.

    Good for you.
  • Like WinPitcher. I will check the stores for some items but not all. Usually about 5-10% of my searches.

I check stores when it is something that I really need to have in a timely manner (mostly non-cards).

I have an eBay store so I know people do check them out on occasion image
  • I have an Ebay Store and have found it is a great way to sell individual cards without having to bulk them up and sell them via a 7 day auction for next to nothing. I generally have them listed at 50% -70% of Beckett with best offer, usually taking any reasonalble offer. Most items I have in my store are commons under $5.00. I sell to many set collectors who are looking for certain cards to finish their sets. With this price structure I am able to turn my inventory over. Ebay charges like 6 cents a month to have an item in a store so it is great for a little guy like me. So I guess what I am saying is that all Store Owners on Ebay are not like Levi Bleam or Mike Wheat with overpriced stuff that they like to look at month after month.
