1953 world series tickets

Hi guys.
I'm from the coin side of this forum but I thought I'd wander over here and show you my tickets.
My grandfather attended these games and gave them to me.
Any comments and info will be appreciated.

Very nice stubs
The condition is rough and they're standing room only - rather than assigned seats - and from what I understand not as desirable.
Here's an Ebbets Field stub of mine - notice it's been torn neatly and has assigned seating.
Another thing - sometimes it's good to review the game number of the ticket so see if anything historically significant happened?
Having said that? I think you've got a great piece of baseball history - and especially nice since it belonged to your grandfather!
I hope you keep it in your family/collection - very nice and thanx for sharing.

Stone193,
I understand what you're saying about the condition and the seating.
They look a little better than the scan shows but not nearly as nice as yours.
Not sure if anything remarkable happend in either of these games. Would have loved to have been there though.
They will stay in the family. My brother has the program for one of the two games.
Not sure which one.
Thanks for the info.

collecting RAW Topps baseball cards 1952 Highs to 1972. looking for collector grade (somewhere between psa 4-7 condition). let me know what you have, I'll take it, I want to finish sets, I must have something you can use for trade.
looking for Topps 71-72 hi's-62-53-54-55-59, I have these sets started
1953 Game 6
1952 Game 6
Game 6 in '52 was when Billy Martin made the mad dash in to catch the infield popup.
Enjoyed the links.

Here's a Yankee companion from that year:
There's very little interest in this kind of stuff here - like WS press pins.
I've picked up some over the years - my favorite being the "set" for the '55 WS since it was the only win for Brooklyn in their entire team history.

I've never really thought about collecting tickets or WS press pins, but I'm definitely interested in seeing any that other guys have. I remember the color section in one of the early Sport Americana guides illustrating all of the pins.
Someone here had a graded ticket to a Series game in Shibe Park a while ago. That was a nice one, too.

<< <i>What do '50s world series ticket stubs normally sell for? I would love to have an example or two of the Brooklyn Dodgers World Series appearances.

I would just do a search on ebay and see what comes up. I don't buy that kind of stuff anymore - so I'm not really sure about value - the guides aren't that helpful - I think what an item brings on ebay or an outside auction is what it's worth.
mike
I've shown them before - and of course they're special in that it's the only WS the Dodgers won in Brooklyn.
I have the '56 Dodger pin which is not popular since it's a tie tack - but never pulled the trigger on the Yankee one - will get it one of these days.

I got to see other really nice tickets from the era.
I got to see the boxscores from the games and I got to see press pins.
About those press pins.
Is it that obvious that they were handed out to the press?
I've never seen them before.
Do they still do this?
