Pokemon Cards - Is there a price guide?

My eight year old son and his friend are "into" Pokemon cards. Not playing - just lookng at the card values and making trades. When he found out that my nephew had a whole collection he was in awe. My nephew thinks he has some high value cards and wants to sell them. My nephew knows I sell extensively on eBay and wanted me to do it.

My expertise is football cards not Pokemon. I don't know anything about them. I have looked at Wal-Mart and Borders in the magazine section for a price guide/information guide so I can figure out what he has and how much it is approximately worth but can't find one. This indicates to me there is not much of a market. Does anyone know if a price guide exists? Is there a good information book out there? Are Pokemon cards worth anything?

Any help would be appreciated.

    I know that Beckett had a Pokemon guide at one time, don't know if they still do. Unless you are sure you can get a 10 (Rares only), Pokemon cards are not worth grading.

    Easy guide- if it's not shiny........it's a common.

    I haven't seen a value guide in a few years now. Perhaps one of these days when kids in their late teens and early-20s make it deeper into their adulthood, there may be a renewal of interest in this series.

    www.beckett.com has an online Pokemon price guide that is updated monthly. I do not subscribe to it, but if it is like the baseball one, it's something like $4.95 for a month (about the same as a magazine).

    www.pojo.com also has prices, but they are way-old.

    Probably the best price guide - and since you said you sell on e-bay - is e-bay itself. Just look at completed Pokemon auctions.

    Contrary to what others have said, the cards still sell. I only deal in the first 3-4 sets, but I don't have problems getting rid of cards!

    As you mentioned I also don't sell pokemon cards and just to let you know the one time I did venture down that route on ebay it was nothing but trouble. Unlike selling sports cards I ran into a number of folks who didn't know that once you had a high bid you were supposed to pay.....enough said on that topic....but good luck, hope you make some bucks for your kids......when I tried selling my kids cards it wasn't real profitable...al.
