OT: Real quick.....would you....

... "feature" an auction on Ebay for an extra $19.95 a lot of 3,054 Garbage Pail Kids? I am sorry if y'all think this should go in the non sports forum, but this forum gets a lot more action and I need an answer pretty quick. I will be listing them within the hour, so I was just wondering about your opinions. Usually, my rule of thumb is that if I think it will go over $500, I will feature it. However, with their being so many GPK auctions, I was thinking of possibly "featuring" it since it was such a huge lot. I doubt there are any that big on Ebay and it would surely get a little action.

I would not. If someone is searching GPK they will find it. Throw in a Pujols in the lot and I would than highlight the auction.image

Do you guys not feature it if it will bring BIG money? I have found that it really works on big money items.

What are you expecting to get for it? Unless there are a lot of Series 1 and 2, I wouldn't think there would be much action, even if the lot is so large.

My rule of thumb is that if I think it is worth at least $1000, then I'll spring for the extra $20 (2%).

There are no series 1. I sold them a while back. There are a few series 2. Actually, about 1,000 of them are from series 4. I am figuring around $200, maybe a little more. I may be way off, but that's what I'm thinking.

I would not spend the additional $19.95 if you are only anticipating it being a $200.00 ending price auction. To generate interest, I would open it up at .01 with no reserve and let the market have at it. Sometimes I do that, and sometimes I don't, sold a Mercedes on ebay a few weeks ago with .99 cent minimum bid and no reserve. Can make for some tense but fun moments. Good luck on whatever you decide.

I know people hate to spend money on extras.

Almost every time I do it.......... I SCORE BIG.

I really do not care how much money EBAY makes.
I only care how much money I make.

The GPK search results are pretty crowded.

I also like to use featured because it sucks
    folks into the stores.

This is why featuring helps. If you have a lot of listings, others will pick up hits based on the featured auction. I think a lot like this will do better with a BIN/offer vs. an auction listing.
