Good deal?

Wasn't too sure how much to bid at first but I think I paid a fair price.

What do you guys think?

  • It was more than the last one sold for but the important thing is that you're happy with the deal.

Unless Moss does something stupid in the future I think you got a solid deal. On cards autos are getting really hard to find...
on card DUAL autos are almost unheard of!

    Oh well. image

Before I placed my bid I did also run a "complete listing" on the card and only one BIN showed up for $350.

Heres another thing I recently bought....

For $20 you can't go wrong.......

Bought it before the Santana trade, not bad for $20.
  • I wouldn't worry about it as the completed auctions aren't always the greatest indicator when there is a small sample size. FWIW I just picked up a Randy Moss '99 Passing the Torch signed card that came in the mail today. One had sold for $255 and I saw it at $50 with under a minute. I placed a bid and won it for around $70. It's in amazing condition. In fact, it's good to the point that I'll be sending it for grading. A $100+ flip would be great, but it could get some nice $ if it grades Gem. The same guy had a Carter/Moss dual that I should've won. It went for $160, which is well under what they normally get.

How much do the Carter/Moss ones go for?

Also, when you get that card back from grading send me a PM if your looking for a buyer.

This one was back in December, one of my favorites.

I saw a Moss/Carter dual drop for $255 earlier today.

Hmmm, after taking a look I see the guy that bought the one I mentioned earlier (which was under $170) has posted it for sale with a BIN of $249. It won't be a bad flip for him.

When the guy posted the copies where I got my Moss auto he posted the title of Passing the Torch with symbols on each side. With that being said, I found it only because I searched Passing the Torch in the title and descriptions.

As far as my copy goes, I'd be willing to sell it if the offer is decent but I doubt you want to buy something knowing how much I gave. When I got it I was also torn on the idea of working on the set as well as the fact that the Pats were in the SB.

FWIW I honestly am amazed at the condition of it. It's as clean as I could hope. The only thing may be the centering on the front. I haven't taken a better scan here at the house, but here's the scan that was on the auction:

    Nice card man! image

Heres another dual I've had my eyes on...... Manning/Marino eBay

The select few that were on eBay went for big $$$.
  • I like the Manning/Marino. I've always wanted a triple Manning autographed card that doesn't involve stickers. I was recently searching completed auctions and saw where one sold under $250. I guess the only other Manning that I'd really like to have is the 1998 Topps autographed card.

However, if we end up buying a house in a few days my collecting is going to be secondary in a big way. I'm sure I'll still buy and sell, but having a house that is ours is more important to me.

WOW!!! the Manning/Marino auction is up to $459.

There's a quad on card auto from the Pen Pals series that has Favre/Elway/Manning/Marino. There's only a few of them and one of them appears now and then with a ridiulous BIN. Now that the brothers Manning have back to back SB MVP honors I'm hoping to find that Manning triple before long.

I can't wait to get a NYG helmet and have the whole team sign it, "ROAD WARRIORS" OR something else on the front.

You got a picture or link of that card your talking about?

Is it on card? I assume it is.....your like me....I hate stickers.
  • I'm not sure if an auction link is still up for it but the card appears from the same seller for around a $2,495 BIN.
