Grade This Mantle! (big image!)

I bought this on ebay. The image wasnt too good, but it was slabbed and the buyer had good feedback. It looks very nice in hand besides the corners. What would you grade it?

I think it could 3.

The top left corner though may bring it down to a 2.

If it is crease free, pin hole free, etc.... It could go as high as a four depending how many times it is submitted. I'd guess seven out of ten submissions comes back a two.

I would guess a 2 PSA, but if it was a common from the same set I would say PSA would have graded it a 3.

So its a 2. I think its primarily due to the corners. As there are no creases, and very minor surface wear.

Nice one Ankur, a twin to my "2" of that card as far as corners, but mine has more surface wear. Congrats! (You must be on a "mick" kick.)

I think the paper loss on the top left corner is what made it a 2. The other 3 corners have worn honestly.

To be honest, that is one nice looking card. The corners for the most part show honest wear. the vard may have some scuffs but I don't see any heavy creases.

It is a decent looking 2.

No way, corners are much too rounded for a 3. A very classic example of a PSA 2 (corners are worn to death but the card is clearly not abused).

Its amazing how different grades can look so different. If a 52 topps mantle looked like this, it would be quite a bit more than what an ordinary 2 would go for!
