.5 Bump-worthy?

I figured I'd give this .5 gig a shot. Think these cards look worthy of being 8.5s?

Yes, all have a chance if the corners are strong, except the'63 fleer Cepeda. The centering looks too o/c L-R for an upgrade.

As I said in other threads, on the first batch
I am ONLY going with perfectly centered cards.

We will ALL be much better at picking by the
    first week of March.

The 1960 Leaf Cepeda has the best chance in my opinion. The 62 and 63 McCoveys, both beauties, do have flaws. The 62 is too OC left to right for a bump, and the 63 has too many white print specks. The 67 McCovey is a little tight on the bottom, and the Cepeda rookie has rough cuts on both sides. The 63 Fleer Cepeda is also OC, as was prviously mentioned by jayhawke.

Edited to add: All are very sharp looking examples.

  • The 63 Topps and the 67 Topps are worthy I dare say they should have both benn 9s originally !!!
  • Agreed.

A couple look like solid 9s from the scans.

    Definitely would resubmit ALL.

Exact centering of these cards is as follows:

    62 McCovey: 42/58 t/b; 58/42 l/r
    63 McCovey: 45/55 t/b; 56/44 l/r
    67 McCovey: 58/42 t/b; 44/56 l/r
    58 Cepeda: 41/59 t/b; 52/48 l/r
    60 Cepeda: 50/50 t/b; 45/55 t/b
    63 Cepeda: 48/52 t/b; 45/55 l/r

  • I would resubit those raw for PSA-9 hopes, except the 1958 which looks like it's lucky to reside in the PSA-8 holder.
