Silent auction wins at the basketball game last night......

Went to a local high school basketball game last night, they were holding a silent auction to get a new scoreboard in memory of two former students who were killed by their father a couple of years ago. (He killed the whole family and then himself) They had about ten items, so I placed a $30 bid on a George Brett auto'd Sports Illustrated, $25 bid on an Ozzie Smith auto'd Sports Illustrated and a $65 bid on a Kirk Hinrich auto'd shoe that he wore while playing in the world games (or something like that), they actually had both shoes but I picked the one with the clearer auto. During halftime of the boys game they announced the winners and I ended up winning all three items. I went to pay after the game and asked about the rest of the stuff and only three other items even got bids, I told the girls in charge I would give them their opening bid of $50 for the other shoe and $15 for some smaller items, they accepted. When they brought out the other shoe, it was in the Converse box that they were shipped in and it had the return address and phone number of Kirk's father on the shipping label right on the outside of the box, talk about a COA. Just thought I would share becuase I was so excited about this, I am a Bulls/Hinrich fan but I still kick myself for never going to see him play when he was in high school only 20 miles away. I have no idea what a good price would have been but since it was for a good cause I think I did pretty well. If I ever figure out how to do pictures, I will post some.
