No More $13/5 day special ??? Thanks PSA!!!!

I think this is the 1st time in about 4 years that there is not a 5 day special(even though in reality they are 7-10 days) , looks like PSA is doing everything in it's power to upset it's customer base right now, they 1st add 1/2 grades and want everyone to resubmit their cards then they take away the most likely way that the cards would be submitted(5 day for star cards) argh!!
I usually send in my cards together with 5 day specials and bulk orders. I put together a 150 card bulk order with about 10 5day cards which PSA will not be getting. way to go

Look at the bright side, the order speed should start getting back to normal...lol

must be uncomfortable times what with that mess of saliva everywhere

I think everyone saw this coming. Thay have said they are so far behind on this special. It is averaging 10 or more days for grading so why would the want to continue it and upset thier base even more by not getting it done in a good time?
>>
my complaint is that how many people have held their subs since the announcement and this is the 1st time in years that there is not "fast turnaround" special(regardless of whether it was fast or not it was $2 cheaper)? probably msot as there was no reason to send it in and have the criteria change in a week. sure the 5 days were going 7-10 days but now we have to pay $15 for the same service , an extra 2 bucks a card , which coincides with when they were expecting to get an influx of cards. nothing like hitting you on both ends.

if there is a problem, it is with the person checking to make sure the flips are correct, NOT THE GRADING

If the cards are high value, then the extra $2 per card for the regular service shouldn't be that big of a deal. Wasn't there value restrictions on the $13 special? Maybe not, but really, at least you can still submit the cards, it'll just cost you $20 more.

Why not just raise the annual membership fee to $119.99? No big deal, right...where does it end?

I paid $170 something for two years.
And if there's a question on when something is gonna end, it's the complaining. Try being in the market where metal prices matter, I can tell you first hand that you wouldn't be complaining about small increases in fees on ebay and PSA.

Very true, and they could have done so if they wanted. The thing I don;t get with these complaints is why we hold PSA to some type of higher standard than every other business in the U.S. today. Did gas go up or down? Did milk go up or down? Did electricity prices go up or down? How about your taxes? It's the price you pay for living in a capitalist system.
Why does everyone expect PSA to lower prices and give price breaks/specials every single month and if they don't it is somehow cheating us all? It's not a "special" if you have it all the time. You either choose to pay the regular prices, or you wait until a special is offered. You can make the same choice with most other things in this land. If you want to complain, aim your punches at those things you don't get to choose when to pay. If you choose to not pay your sky high electric bill, you don't have power. Choose not to pay your taxes and you could end up in jail.
PSA isn't forcing anyone to send in one single card. I just don't get the complaint. YOU HAVE A CHOICE!

this message board has grown into the complaint department/SGC BGS supporters ripping PSA
this boards is almost gotten to be the ANTI PSA BOARD--amazing....i could go to network 54 if i wanted to hear PSA bashing all day.....
no wonder many of the old timers are gone....who needs the complaints and constant bickering.....that is why you NEVER SEE BIG TIME REGISTRY MEMEBERS IN THESE FORUMS

<< <i> Anyways, I gotta check myself here cuz I've turned into a complainer trying to combat all of the whiners, and that is not something I can let them turn me into. Ah, there, I'm better now.
LOL..Same here...The Official HOF Rookies Thread keeps me pretty busy on the Set Registry forum. 99% of the posts there are focused on either the players, their cards or the collecting of them...The thread just broke the 3,000 mark.
Speaks volumes about how popular that set has become, and much of that has to do with the crowd of guys collecting it. I'm very thankful to be part of the ride.

People want to feel as if they get what they pay for. If people spend more money for faster service, they expect faster service. As far as the $13 special is concerned, I was told in Houston it was going to go away for awhile. And I'm not surprised.....they probably got backed up with it because people (me included) figured out it was worth it to pay a little more to get my stuff back faster than to see it disappear in a bulk submission for 3 months. Now that it's gone away they can focus on better turnarounds for the existing services, and that's fine with me.
I am sure they know they have to do better, because if they don't get better at it they will be a different company in 3-5 years.

<< <i>I think the last two posts are red herrings. They confuse the issue of pricing with the issue of customer service, which has been the bedrock of the majority of complaints on this board. The customer service issues that are frequently mentioned are indefensible, though some of the rants against them are misplaced. Anyone who thinks that PSA cannot do a better job of logging in order faster and turning them around quicker has lived on another planet for the past 3 years. Go talk to dealers who are big submitters. Just make sure you have half an hour when you do. PSA is struggling to grasp these issues as they grow - that is typical for a smaller, growing company and they should be given time to get better.

Amen...right on the money!
Edited to say: People do not giving up their hard earned money for it to sit for 3-5 months waiting on a submission...i.e., the practice of charging your credit card and/or cashing your check and pocketing the interest while your submission bakes...
The original post/complaint was specifically aimed at the fact that PSA is not running the $13 grading special this month. Which, IMO, is smart.
Customer service, specifically the grading flow, is an entirely different subject. I don't think it is realistic, especially if they are short on graders, to expect PSA to be able to get every order done in a week. If they get more in than the graders can handle, such is life. They haven't been keeping up, and that is why the did away with the guarantee. I have no problem with that. If they started grading faster, it would mean even less time with eyes on the cards and even more inconsistent grading. So then everyone complains about that. It's a no win.
They have set up tiered grading prices based on card values. IMO, they should just put "Approx 10-90 days" on every service except the walk-through. I mean who is sending $50 card in on the $35 grading service just to get them back sooner? No one. At least no one in their right mind.

YESS You do have a Choice!! Im crossing my first set over to another grading company.
Even though you do have a choice, It's kinda like the tobbaco companies. Once they have you hooked, you do have the CHOICE to quit, but thats not likely for most.
