1928 George H. Ruth Candy Co BABE RUTH

Well, I got my first Babe Ruth card from his playing days. This is the first Babe Ruth card from his playing days that I have ever even held. Now, I own one. It is a 1928 George H. Ruth Candy Co. I am not at home yet, so I won't be able to post a scan until later this evening. I got a great deal on it. I got a small collection for $250 and that card was part of the deal.

I do have a question for this all knowing board - why doesn't PSA grade them anymore? It shows that they graded a few in the pop report, but it says that they no longer grade them. Why is that? Thanks. Scan coming later.

Those along with the Fro-Joys are highly counterfeited. They even use old card stock to print them which makes it more difficult (read, time consuming) to authenticate. moral of the story; Time is money.

    fwiw, BVG may grade them

Post a scan when you can.
  • As Ladder7 said, those are HIGHLY counterfeited.
They can even fool a 30 year expert.
Theres a thread on Network54 on how to tell the difference between the fakes and real Babe Ruth Candy cards
