Teaser for Sunday - New 2007 Topps Heritage Variation Found, and it's kinda sorta a Pancho Herrer!

Was flipping through some commons earlier and I noticed a card that has two distinct variations. I don't think either is too rare, but I have multiple copies of each of the 2 noticeably different cards. It's too late to scan right now, but I will update this one tomorrow.

Hint - it's a team card.

Are you talking about the Tiger team card that states National League?

    Nope - scans coming up.

The card in question is the Dodgers Team card, # 71.

The cards in the right column are consistently missing a spot of black ink, cutting across the names Betemit, Drew, Ethier, and Honeycutt. I have about double the amount of cards missing the ink. I know I pulled at least one of the missing ink cards from a hobby pack, but my purchases this year were about 75% retail, 25% hobby. Not much of a variation, but it's the off season and I'm not too big a fan of the other stuff on the market.

Thoughts from the peanut gallery? I'd love to hear from guys who busted 5+ cases and see how many of each they have.

Just noticed this from the scan, but it looks like the "water spots" in the seats are only found on the cards missing the ink spot. I guess the best way to classify this one would be "with spots" and "without spots." It looks like a nice copy, without spots, with all names completely printed is the toughest copy to find.

Oh wow. For poops and giggles, I went back and went over my Adrian Beltre cards, #443, the same as Pancho Herrera (or Herrer.) Scan coming up.

    Scan should speak for itself.

How many of these are out there?
  • No way the Beltre's real, but I wish they would've done that variation.
<-- one of those guys who bought way too many 1987 Topps cards for a quarter a pack back in the day.
Other than that, I collect Al Kaline cards and any cool Twins cards. And, I love 1958 Topps so the Heritage set this year has sucked me in!

What an amazing coincidence. I would love to be a part of the "Intentional Errors Task Force" at Topps. I could come up with some doozies.
