what is a straight truncation?

I've seen a definition of a coin where it mentions a variety with long straight truncation and since I'm fairly new I have no idea what it means. I'm referring to the mexican 8 reales of Iturbide, can somebody please explain this to me.

The truncation (in this context) probably refers to the bottom of the neck (where the head is "cut off" for the purposes of the portrait).
