Do you put your vintage cards in a penny sleeve before you store them in a 9 pocket album sheets?

When you guys put together a vintage set and store/display it in an album, do you put a penny sleeve over the card before putting the card in a 9 pocket sheet. Or do you just place the raw card directly into the sheets?

The odd problem I've run into in the last year is that some of the Ultra Pro penny-sleeves that I've purchased at the shop are made just a fraction of centimeter too wide and don't fit perfectly into the 9-pocket pages anymore (the penny sleeves just sort of wrinkle inside the pocket and leave an air gap). Meanwhile, the Ultra Pro penny sleeves I purchase at the Comic book store fit perfectly. I'm not sure if the sleeves at the card shop are a new version or an older version. The pocket pages I'm using, by the way, are also Ultra Pros. That's the only snag I've run into. I brought this topic up once before on the board and didn't get a whole lot of feedback.

<< <i>For my Heritage sets, I've been using this exact method. I place the card in the penny sleeve and then into the 9-pocket page. It seems to keep the card a bit more snug so it won't slide out.

The penny sleeves do keep the card more snug in the pockets. The old penny sleeves are a little to wide and wont fit properly. The newer ones out now fit perfect.

So the mystery continues. Are the old sleeves too wide, or are the new ones too wide? How could my comic shop have more current supplies than my card shop?
I think its the other way around.
one more post to 1000... congrats!
