Hong Kong type collectors ?

  I only am collecting it by type for the year 1901, but that sounds like a fun album. I would love to see scans of it, both to discern what they included as types, and to see you your coins one day, if you get the time.
  
  I have a nice duplicate 1901 cent in RB AU. Actually, I had two AU 1901 cents. Periodically I get other dupes when I upgrade my daughter's 1901 set, too. Let me know what you need. Of course there are only three types for 1901: the 1-cent, 5-cent, and 10-cent, all of which I have in AU-UNC.
  
  But I might have a few other nice HK dupes from other dates if you let me know what you need.

  BBQnBLUES, I managed to fill this album about 30-35 years ago, all in unc or better. The only counterfeits I encountered were in the Victoria 50c and $ series. I remember my big thrill was finding a BU 1864 mil and a great Unc 1941 1c for a song in the same shop in San Francisco. I also recall that it was way easier to find gemmy Victoria issues in silver than in copper/bronze and than in Edward and George V's coinage. Sold the whole shebang for close to $6K as part of a major divestiture in the late '80's. Used Jerry Remick's Commonwealth catalog as my guide to types, rarity, etc. No one else seemed to have it at the time, so I tended to know more about what I was lookign at than most dealers did. I imagine the whole project is going to be way harder for you, now that China and Hong Kong have a serious collector presence. Also guessing that counterfeiting is more of an issue now than back then when the market was so weak for modern Asian material. Wishing you the best of luck!
