    > Let's face it: the definitions of "conservative" or "liberal" in the political sense have little to do with the traditional usage of those terms.

Do you have something specific to state about this idea? As it stands, it is an unsupported Talking Point.

    << <i>pharmer, I have a bridge here that I've been trying to offload......interested?

.....let me clarify: yes, the economy IS booming for people that are already well-off, but certainly NOT for the middle class on down.... >>

This is at the very least, comical. I'm a part of the middle class and doing better than ever. Sorry, but I see the middle class buying nice homes and driving SUVs. If anything the middle class is living in excess. I don't need anything from the haves. I'm creating my own "haves".

    > If one has the depth ( doesn't take much ) to understand what the basic principle of socialism is, there can be no disagreement. It's a one word principle too . You don't know it.

Such a simple word. But billions of words have been written about it. A lot of economists, philosophers, etc have devoted many hours of thought to it.

I get the feeling - just from mountains of evidence, mind you - that it isn't as simple as you think it is. image

Yes it is. Jerk offs may try to obfuscate it, but it's really very simple.

Hard to rebut such a well-argued point. image We'll have to agree to disagree.

    Sunni vs Shiite
    Democrat vs Republican

Have you noticed how venomous the debate gets?
I have been around a LONG time folks and have seen our American freedom going away just a liitle bit more every year since the 1950s. It really doesnt matter who is in the White House.
It reminds me of the old joke about how do you cook a frog.
If you dump him into a pot of hot water he will jump out. If you put him in a pot of cold water and them slowly bring it to a boil he doesnt notice it until its too late.
Well guess what folks...... Its too frigging late.

OK Smitty--I hope you are happy with the response you got to your thread. I think it is time to end it and get back to our real passion--coin collecting. Say something now Smitty so we can end this and get on to something we all enjoy, not just the few!
