What would be a good 2004-2007 set to start?

This is a little older, but I've always wanted to put together a set of Topps Laser...1996 I think.

The heritage sets are really nice, but you would have to do a bunch of trades. Last years bowman heritage was a decent
set, but beware many of the cards are dinged and the parallel set was poorly done. 06 A&G could be done with a few
hobby boxes, but they are not cheap.
