Can this be true?

I tried to see through the unopened 86' fleer packs I have graded and can not see anything. Could you really tell if a Jordan rookie was on top in a unopened pack?

Would be tough to tell through the GAI holder, but not if the pack were raw and the wrapper were pressed down to see what card was showing through the wrapper. The submitter would have had to request the holder to be noted when they submitted the pack for grading, also.

Iam not sure if I completly trust GAI. What if this was a resealed pack with a fake Jordan on top. Maybe its just me, or Iam not using the right light but I still can not see through these packs.

You can see through the packs but you can't trust GAI.

BY the way I dont think much of this seller either. He doesn't know how to spell Jordans name and he saids this is one of the best modern day pack in hockey sports collecting in his description.

Is it definitely true. I purchased a box from BBCKID about 10 years ago for a high end client of mine and there were 4 packs with jordan showing on front.

    No gum in 86s.

<<< IF YOUR LUCKY ENOUGH TO PULL A PSA 10 JORDON OUT OF THIS PACK, WELL TAKE IT RIGHT TO THE BANK. THE LAST ONE SOLD FOR OVER $7,000.....(LELANDS)......... >>>

Spending 4K, busting the pack and the odds are extremely slim that it would grade a 10, and then as noted it could even be counterfeit - go through all that and even if everything goes perfectly you don't even double your money? Sounds like a very poor gamble to me.

I'm not a gambling man, but I see this pack as a sure thing.

    Sure there is

    12 Cards
    1 Sticker
    1 Stick Gum

Does anyone know what section of the pack it is in?

you guys I have opened alot of 86 fleer about 4 years ago at baseball card kids table at Sportsfest and Chicago Sun Times Show

I can assure you that the gum comes on top of the pack.

    For example this pack.

Wrapper, powder gum and Jordan next card.

However, before you think the card is ruined the 1986 gum is nothing like Topps gum.

The Jordan will have powder on it from the gum but every pack I opened the past (20 years) probably 20 packs from 5 different boxes the gum never hurt the card.

The top card WILL have lots of powder on it though.

With that said I WOULD NEVER BUY a pack like this because if that ever heated up the card could be damaged.

I opened legit stuff at 250.00 to 275.00 per pack from a reputable dealer.

If I'm buying a pack with the hopes of landing one card, I want that sucker to be right in the middle. The corners are always subject to more wear and tear on cards that are on the top or bottom of packs. That's why I've never understood why people go ga ga for cards that are on the top or bottom. To me that's a sign to move on!

The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Very true. The cards in the best shape are found more times then none in the middle. With the Jordan having a piece of gum on top of it doesn't sound so good. Even if this card was in the middle, the chances this card would grade a 9 or 10 are very slim.
