He's getting ridiculous prices for these crap repints. Fools and their money soon part!
<< <i>some have sold at decent prices >>
One.....not some....sold for $200+ and it was in a PSA 8 holder with matching cert number, said to be a "novelty card in a PSA holder to fool your friends." That one is a big problem if you ask me. Some show dealer will buy that and put it in his showcase. Doing a little checking it seems he's sold about 5 of his raw "reprints" for between $10 and $20 all the while fully disclosing their fakeness.
<< <i>hard to believe people would buy this stuff unless they are going to try and burn someone else >>
Now you got it.

nam812 is correct. I bought one of these fake cards from a different seller (a 1956 Mantle) several years ago. Of course the seller (NARU) said it was raw (authentic) but I got burned (not too badly).
This is definitely a copyright issue but I would be surprised if Topps or MLB does anything about it.

1. Authenticity Disclaimers
UP FOR AUCTION IS ONE 1953 TOPPS CARD OF MICKEY MANTLE. CARD NUMBER IS 82.
CARD IS NOT AUTHENTICATED SO IS BEING SOLD AS A REPRINT.
Awhile back when myself and some others actually had a contact at eBay that was helping to rid the site of these type of auctions he stated that when eBay saw the underlined text in an auction that we reported it clearly broke their authenticity disclaimer policy. But seems that our contact was doing to good of a job (remember that every auction pulled is a potential loss of cash for eBay) and although he is still working for eBay he is no longer actively helping in the removing of these types of auctions and sellers.
2. Unauthorized Or Counterfeit Trading Cards (This can be accessed on the auction page itself)
Basically the same deal as above as most authorized reprints actually state they are a reprint and usually differ in some way from the original. Plus eBay is supposed to have a list of cards that are highly counterfeited and supposedly don't allow the sales of them unless they are graded. Now I have yet to find an actual policy that states that but there has been sellers that have received an email from eBay telling them that they can not sell the cards on the list without them having been graded but this hidden policy seems to hit various sellers whenever eBay wants to and does not seem to affect every seller trying to sell what is on this supposed list.
So anyone that wants to can give a shot at reporting them, our contact said that the more who report the more they feel compelled to look into the listings. Doesn't mean they will remove them but doesn't take all that long to report this stuff.
