Plank doesn't even exist with a 350-460 Subjects back.

I give ebay credit where some credit is due - they're getting quicker at removing this garbage - now if they could only take more steps to ensure this garbage doesn't even get listed in the first place........

He went to great lengths to explain why it was real and 5 dealers agreed with him.
But he wouldnt name any of the dealers because they would get too many phone
calls. If he would have took the time to find out about the card and instead of
the elaborate explaination it would have took him 10 seconds on line to find out it
was a reprint and a bad one at that. The company that printed it was not trying to
deceive as they printed it with a 350-460 back and no factory designation. Also the
re prints always have extremely fat boarders on the back. Just another scammer
trying to dup a new collector with alot of hype. Kudo's to e-bay for pulling it so fast. Joe

  • Ebay could stop this fraud immediately
All they have to do is require sellers of ultra rarities, say $20K value or higher to have the item graded by one of the Big 3 graders
No raw cards on rarities or ultra high $$$ cards
This would eliminate over 98% of fraudulent listings
But this would hurt Ebays bottom line
    Ebay is all about $$$$$$$$$
    NOT protecting the consumer

It sounds like a good idea, but there is no way to really enforce it. This seller had a Buy It Now of $29,995.00 (I think), accepting Best Offers - which your method definitely would have worked on something like this. However, what if the seller starts it at $9.99 instead? I guess my point is that eBay could probably write software that would automatically flag listings over $20K, but they don't have the time to look at every single auction - the ones under that amount.

I think you're way off on this estimate because 99.9% of eBay fraud is on items less than $20K

Besides, eBay shut it down pretty quick anyway. Congrats to them!

I think what ebay needs to do to police their site is when sellers knowingly sell fake or counterfeit items, they need to prosecute these morons. Granted, a good number of these lowlifes are just kids getting on their daddy's computer, but even still, they need to know that illegal is illegal
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

This policy won't come close to elimintating even a fraction of a % of fraudulent auctions. BTW, I am glad ebay is all about making money. That's exactly why they are in business and that's why people buy their stock. Good catch by christoperking. I think this shows the tremendous value of the experts on message boards like this.

I sent a message to the seller and he called me a dirty name....lol

I still don't know how to attach a link here.

That's a better record than Dentyne had.
  • Next time this happens, just highlight and copy and paste the whole page on the board, this way when ebay removes the listing we can all still view the listing! Even though the link might be is invalid.
