paypal claim...

I emailed a person ebay asking them what price they were looking for on a item. This person only had a 7 feedback but was 100%. The person told me they wanted $25 for the card. I said fine, send me your email for paypal payment. They they wrote back and said they now wanted $30. I said whatever, i will take it. They emailed back with email. I sent funds ($30.00). Then i get a email back that they want $3.00 more for shipping. I gave in and paypal'd $3.00 more. Then i asked if the card would be mailed tomorrow. Ready for this... then said they wanted $5.00 more. I said i wanted a refund. They refused. This all took place within a 30 minute period. I went into paypal and filed a claim on both payments of $30 + $3...
Will i have a problem getting my money back? I have over 500 paypal transactions and never a problem til now.

  • I emailed the guy and asked, "Do you end auctions early and if so, how much?"

He emailed me back right away and this was his response:

"Yes I will sell you this card for $35 + $3 shipping if you pay via paypal. Let me know"

  • LOL...
    i WOULD BLOCK HIM!!

He just told me he stole the pics off the internet...
and he wants me to remove the claim...

    ya right!

Just for the heck of it..
what happens if he does ship the card tomorrow and i do get it with delivery confirmation.
I know its not the red refractor...
Am i screwd or do i still have a legit claim with paypal?
  • What was the extra $5.00 for?
  • for him to open the package and send me a scan
  • i wanted proof he had the red refractor. the red refractors are numbered #1/1
  • I think the price was fair for him to open the package and scan it and repackege it, I mean after all he probably would have gotten triple that if it went the full lenght auction for a 1 OF 1. I mean, this is say this was indeed a 1 OF 1? If so I would just send him the $5.00 and tell him you had a change of heart and still want the card because really whats another $5.00 for a one of one masterpiece card? Maybe that card would have sold for 100 bucks. You can't replace a 1 OF 1 card, once its gona it may be gone forever and never be sold again!
  • Its not a 1/1 card that has.He has the regular refractor if any at all.
The scan he sent me of the back just said refractor..NO 1/1 which it should.
He also admited that he took scans from other auctions...

You know I checked out the link that you provided and I would say this guy dosen't look like a scam. I mean don't take my word for it but i'm telling you what I think. Maybe is just using somebody scan because hes to lazy to take one himself but other then that, don't know what to tell you. You should clearly ask him, tell him look, does this card say 1 OF 1 on it or what? If so, I am still interestead so send him the $5.00 if you want and get the card if indeed its the one your looking for. Checked this guys feedback, other cards hes selling and lenght of time a registered user on ebay and nothing sayd scam about it, besides I don't think anybody would try to scam only 30 bucks, maybe $300 or $3000 but I don't think 30 bucks! Anyway, I would go for the chance for a 1 OF 1 so good luck on whatever you doimage
  • If you paid the guy, why is the auction still up and running?
With 5 days left on an auction, why is it already packaged up to send out?

    Thank you!!

He sent me a scan of the back or stole a pic of the back from someone
and no 1/1 like it should if its a red refractor.

You should see some of the emails i got, called me everything in the book...

Another thing, who here would charge someone $5.00 for a scan of a card someone wanted to buy?
    too many red flags...
