So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
That was the first 45 I ever bought, the same day I bought "Pacman Fever" by Buckner and Garcia.
I still sing the former at karaoke. Don't drink enough these days to sing the latter.
I am buying and trading for RC's of Wilt Chamberlain, George Mikan, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, and Bob Cousy! Don't waste your time and fees listing on ebay before getting in touch me by PM or at gregmo32@aol.com !
When that song was ubiquitous in '81, the Penthouse Pet of the Year issue came out and she was an absolute dead ringer for the hottest girl in my high school.
My band opened for J. Geils when I was in High School ('78). I was a member of the Pep Band and, apparently, as a joke, they wanted us to come on between the opening act April Wine and J. Geils. The silence was golden as the announcers said "and now, the band you've all been waiting for". Roar and than silence for about 10 seconds as we played our fight song marching across the stage. Cups and bottles and ice commenced as we were leaving. A good 45 seconds of fame.
Like I said, I opened for J. Geils. Wonder if they ever hit it big??????
