Mine is a Nap also! He looks lighter, and not so "dirty", in person.

Fantastic cards, guys. Hard not to be impressed by the 1933 Goudey Lajoie.

Here's my favorite and the only one in my collection I'd absolutely never part with. This card belonged to my brother who was killed in an accident in 1984. When we were kids, I'd constantly badger him to trade it to me because, at the time, Cardenal was the favorite Cub in our household of Cub fans... and because it was such a cool looking card. But he always refused. I still think of it as his card rather than mine.

This Koufax was given to me by a friend in OBC at a time when I didn't dare dream that I'd own any of the superstar Dodger cards from the 50s. Little did I know.

  • In the last two weeks, I got...

    6 80/81 Topps hockey packs
A few 84/85's, 3 83/84 OPC packs and a few others. They were fun to crack and I got the best Gretzky I've ever pulled from a pack. It was very exciting to pull.

    Definitely my current favorite card...

These aren't really worth anything but they're perfect for me. Favorite player, decent condition, not seen every day, and they remind me of good times in my childhood. That's why I collect cards. You guys have some great cards I could never afford, these are what I can afford image

That 71 Clemente sure looks nice Jim. Did it get an OC qualifier? Even if it did, it's still a beauty.

    Nice 54 Banks Biff!

I have two here. There of course both of my favorite player. 1993 Finest Refractor. Second I like Ryno/Smith card. Possibly the best defensive middle infilders of the 80's.

Unless that 1972 OPC Munson is OC on the back, id submit it again. If it got the OC qualifier because of the top/bottom centering on the front, then to me its worth trying again as I don't think it is OC on the front.
  • I'll have to go with Roger. Not graded by SGC because they will not grade miscuts.

I'll pick this one, one from my original collection from when I was a kid:

    image

The story is that I got the card in a pack that my brother gave me for Christmas. I was 12; he was 6. I had collected cards from the first and second series that year, but by the time the 3rd series came out, I had lost interest. The third series was on sale when my brother bought the pack the week before Christmas, so that's what he got me. I stuck the cards from that pack into the box with my 1st and 2nd series cards and forgot about them. When I took them out years later, I found that the 1st and 2nd series cards were well-worn, but the 9 or 10 from the pack from my brother were sharp. His 10-cent gift yielded a $200+ card!

I don't have anything graded but I've always considered it to be VG+. Thankfully I had parents that fully supported my involvement in the hobby. I'm extremely thrilled to this day over all the great bargains that I picked up back then but man do I remember some of the stuff that I missed out on because it was just a bit too much.

This pales in comparison to the cards that have been posted so far but it is my favorite. It was my first venture into vintage.

  • Great cards.

Publius: I can understand why you have trouble chosing. I really like the Grange and Sayers. Amazing cards.

Instead of showing my favorite sports card, I thought I would show my favorite non-graded music card.

  • I'm new to collecting (and to the forum) so I dont know how to post photos.

But my favorite card is not NEARLY as nice as what's already been posted....

Tie between my PSA 5 1949 Bowman Early Wynn HOF RC or my PSA 6 1959 Fleer Ted Williams #2 with Ted and Babe.

    Thanks!
  • This is my favorite card right now...

I thought everyone would get bored of me posting the same pic that I use when these threads pop up. Plus I have been busy getting all these Russ Martin versions of this card. Buybacks, plates, tag cards so he's been on my mind. So far I have 25 different !!!! It was a tie with Bill. Here it is, My other love.......No longer in the GEM holder. PSA couldnt slab it, either could GAI or BGS. Maybe SGC next.

Bouwmeester was drafted as my #1 defensemen in Fantasy and he is at -4 with 0 points. Do you think he will pick it up?

  • << <i>Bouwmeester was drafted as my #1 defensemen in Fantasy and he is at -4 with 0 points. Do you think he will pick it up? >>

I can guarantee that he will pick it up. He is going to finish as one of the best players on defense in the league. He is a player that is often compared to Chris Pronger. I believe that he will finish around a +30 with about 45 points. Don't worry, you made a great pick. image

You just made me feel better about the pick. I have four defensemen on my roster Chara, Spacek, Zubov and Bouwmeester. The good thing is Spacek's unexpected start has made up for Bouwmeester's prodcution.

Wow! Awesome Thorpe and Grange Sports Kings... I am truly envious. How many PSA 8 or higher exist of those?
