Just went over 50% in my Brett Butler master set

Now, my Butler set is nowhere near as extensive as most other player sets, but I'm pretty happy with its growth. I just added seven new arrivals, and have several more either enroute or awaiting approval from PSA to add to the master set. I've gotten lots of nice assistance from several board members - Brian (bkritz), Roger (Rogermnj) and Lee (CDsNuts) to name a few. I haven't submitted any of my own yet, but that'll change soon hopefully. At the very least, I'll be sending in three '93 Finest refractors that I won from Josh.

A good milestone to hit image

I've always liked Brett and still mourn that disastrous trade to the Indians.

    Great job, Geordie.

    Keep it up image
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

Why would anyone collect a scrub like Brett Butler? Just kidding, glad I could help out in your quest. Definitely one of the more underrated players of the 80s-90s. In a way, it's much tougher to come by a semistar in high grade because nobody thinks they're worth submitting. I mean, the only reason I submitted a handful of them was for Geordie, so I can imagine that someone like 4SC or DSL has stacks of Butler cards they've never considered submitting. Nice job so far Geordie.

Lee, you're absolutely right. When I made the decision to start a graded Butler collection, there weren't that many available. They used to pop up from time to time on my regular Butler search, but I didn't pay them much attention back then. It seems that dealers out there have noticed that I'm out there because over the past year or so I've seen a ton of Butlers show up. Since the really rare cards I still need raw just don't show up that often, collecting slabbed ones has been a blast.
