do people on this board use the beckett graded card investor magazine?

I just saw their 2nd ever issue at the bookstore today. Curious to see if people use this magazine for pricing......????

  • Did you by chance flip through it? I did and it is really limited on what cards are in it. It's worthless to me.
  • I thought it was more extensive than the SMR in its coverage.I keep it handy next to the computer with the SMR.

  • Yea i flipped through it.. I found it interesting that in the first issue they didn't have the 1920s strip cards listed and smr doesn't either. Now the new issue they have them listed... I liked the magazine though.. I didn't know how many people were into it though..

  • It appears to me that they put more work into this magazone than any others they offer. There were many changes from the first issue. They added alot of sets and updated pricing for many sets also.It is still a work in progress but I like where they are going with it.

I've been looking for it, but haven't found it. Is it in the big book stores like Barnes & Nobles?

The articles and things are intersting, the prices are, like most Beckett publications, questionable.
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY
  • I like it. They may not cover everything but what they do cover I really like. My favorite feature is that if the pop report of a card is below a certain number they do not price it. They also give a very extensive list of recent sales.

ill have to check it out, never saw it yet-we have a borders though
  • I found it to be very accurate as far as prices go. SMR rarely changes any prices and I wonder why I even get the SMR, it is a disappointment to me. If you look at an SMR from one year ago, or even a few years back and compare to current SMR, it will be pretty much the same. I have seen the Beckett Graded Card Investor guide in Barnes & Noble as well as the magazine section at Shopko and Target.

  • I have no use for it, as I'm a card collector....not a card investor.

Bought Volume 1, No. 2, Issue #2, just for curiosity's sake.
Have been comparing a few prices, and it should be almost
identical to the graded card guide in their monthly pub. For
the most part, the prices jive, so therefore maybe they are
planning to eliminate the graded section from the monthly?
